Thomas Jefferson: Accomplishments

Thomas Jefferson had many accomplishments in and out of presidential office.

Jefferson wrote the Deceleration of Independence 

Http://blog.degreed.com, states that Thomas Jefferson wrote the Deceleration of Independence in 1776. The document was completed in 17 days and then was approved by congress.

Thomas Jefferson supported and urged for free public education 

Referencing http://blog.degreed.com again, Jefferson wrote “A Bill for the More General Diffusion of Knowledge, which outlined a plan for establishing Virginia public schools where “all the free children, male and female” were to be given three years of instruction in reading, writing, arithmetic, and history.”

Jefferson made the Louisiana Purchase

According to https://www.monticello.org, Thomas Jefferson made the “land deal between the United States and France, in which the U.S. acquired approximately 827,000 square miles of land west of the Mississippi River for $15 million.”

 

Those are just accomplishments Jefferson achieved!
